Mum’s the word!
Your mum’s a star and so should be celebrated and thanked this Mother’s Day!
But where does this special day originate from? Traditionally a Christian celebration Mothering Sunday was originally a day for servants to go to their home town and worship in the “mother” church with their families. On their way home flowers would be picked to give to the church or to their mums.
The day has since evolved into an occasion for kids to honour their hardworking mums and show appreciation of all that busy mums do!
There are no hard and fast rules about what to give your mum on this special day but plenty of people kick things off with a delicious breakfast in bed. Freshly squeezed juice, her favourite coffee and maybe a few eggs whipped up on the side!
It’s always lovely to receive a special treat and most mums will love a beautiful accessory.
Pastels are always a hit, looking pretty and brightening up a winter wardrobe ready for sunnier and warmer days.
A fabulous bunch of favourite spring flowers will always be happily received- tulips and daffodils making the perfect gift.
A beautiful scarf, wrap or accessory will make mum’s day!
