Your Franchetti Bond pieces are designed to last a lifetime. To preserve the natural beauty and structural integrity a little regular attention goes a long way!
This guide offers expert advice on cleaning, storage, and protection, ensuring your investment continues to age gracefully and remains a centrepiece of your wardrobe for years to come.
Dolloro Leather
Our Dolloro leather is finished with a specialised protective coating, creating a resilient barrier that is naturally water-resistant and scratch-resistant. Designed to withstand both the weather and the demands of daily wear.
For routine care, a simple wipe-clean approach with a soft, damp cloth is all that is required to remove surface marks and dust. To keep this protective layer in peak condition, avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or alcohol-based wipes, which can degrade the finish over time.
Suede
Suede is naturally porous, we strongly advise treating your item with a high-quality water-repellent spray before its first outing. To maintain the "nap" and remove surface oils or light scuffs, use a dedicated suede brush or a clean rubber eraser. Always brush in a single direction to keep the texture uniform and avoid using water, which can cause permanent staining.
As suede is a soft material for storage gently stuff the bag to ensure its shape is maintained and cover with a dust bag.
Raffia & Canvas
Raffia and Canvas are natural fibres and they require a gentle touch to maintain their organic texture and structure. For routine upkeep, we recommend a light dusting with a soft brush or a dry cloth to prevent debris from settling into the weave. We also advise you use a high-quality protecting spray to ensure maximum longevity.
If a spill occurs, treat the area immediately by dabbing with a soft, slightly damp cloth and a very mild soap solution. It is essential to avoid over-saturating the material, as excess water can weaken the intricate fibres or cause the piece to lose its shape.
Textured Leather
The heat-stamping process used to create these textures results in a surface that is naturally more resilient against scratches, scuffs, and light rain, making them an ideal choice for frequent use.
To maintain the depth and detail of the pattern, cleaning should be kept simple: a light wipe with a soft, damp cloth is usually sufficient to restore its lustre. It is important to dry the surface immediately with a clean towel to prevent any moisture from settling into the grooves of the texture. Avoid using heavy waxes or thick creams, as these can build up within the intricate embossing and dull the finish.
